About  The Providers

Founded in 1991 by two child psychiatrists, Southampton Psychiatric Associates provides comprehensive mental health services in a caring and professional setting in two convenient locations for residents of Philadelphia, the Main Line, eastern Montgomery County, and lower and central Bucks County. Excellent care is available for children, adolescents, adults, and older individuals as well as families and couples. In addition, a wide range of psychotherapy, social skills training, and support groups are offered. 

Currently, the practice is owned by Drs. Margaret Sayers, Razvan Tornea, and Mona Masood and is staffed by well-trained and highly experienced psychiatrists, psychologists, professional counselors, and social workers. The clinicians at Southampton Psychiatric Associates work together in a multidisciplinary team approach in order to provide the highest quality of care possible. In addition, the providers in the practice collaborate with professionals in the community whenever appropriate. Southampton Psychiatric Associates maintains relationships with psychiatric hospitals and university medical centers, primary care physicians, medical specialists, mental health providers, schools, and allied health professionals in the community.

Meet The Team

Margaret D. Sayers, Ph.D. 

Psychologist

Margaret D. Sayers, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist with expertise in cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy. In recent years, she has expanded her training with emphasis on the use of mindfulness, acceptance, and attachment-focused therapy and is certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). In 2023, Dr. Sayers completed intensive training in Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma. She received her graduate training in clinical psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she specialized in the evaluation and treatment of children and families. She completed her training at Eastern Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute/Medical College of Pennsylvania. She has been in private practice since 1992 and an owner of Southampton Psychiatric Associates since 1998. Currently, Dr. Sayers works with adults, children, and families and leads therapy groups for parents and adult women. In addition, she provides clinical supervision, psychoeducational evaluations, classroom observations, and school consultations. She is on the faculty of Temple University where she participates in the training of advanced clinical psychology graduate students.  Dr. Sayers is available to talk to community and school groups on a wide range of topics. Razvan Tornea M.D 

Psychiatrist

Razvan Tornea M.D is a child and adolescent psychiatrist who completed his psychiatric residency at Cooper Hospital/ University Medical Center in Camden, New Jersey, followed by a two year fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Medical College of Philadelphia/Eastern Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute. He is board certified by The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Tornea practiced inpatient and partial hospital psychiatry at several area hospitals before joining SPA in 1999. He has been a partner since 2002. Dr. Tornea's practice focuses on psychiatric evaluations and consultations as well as pharmacological treatment of most mental disorders. He has a particular interest in Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Mona Masood, DO 

Psychiatrist

Mona Masood, DO is an American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry Certified general adult psychiatrist who completed her medical training at Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, VA and psychiatry residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. She has experience treating a diverse patient population from various socioeconomic, religious, and cultural backgrounds. She is trained in psychotherapies including Supportive, Interpersonal and Cognitive Behavioral therapies. Her special interests are Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and cultural effects and stigmas of mental illness and she has conducted outreach and presentations to the local and medical communities on these subjects. She also practices evidence-based medication management for most psychiatric disorders.

Scott Sees, M.D.

Psychiatrist

Scott Sees, M.D. is a general adult psychiatrist who completed his medical training at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and completed his psychiatry residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.  He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.  He completed additional training in psychodynamic therapy at the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia.  He has experience treating patients struggling with anxiety, mood disorders, grief, trauma, and other mental health diagnoses in adults.  His special interests include long-term individual therapy exploring issues of personality, relationships, self-image, and family of origin.  He also practices evidence-based medication management for most psychiatric disorders.

Emily Bray, MA, LPC

Professional Counselor

Emily Bray, MA, LPC is a dedicated professional with over 6 years of experience working with children, teens, young adults, and families. She is a PA licensed therapist and certified school counselor (PK-12) who graduated with her masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Rosemont College. She has experience working with individuals with a wide variety of mental health issues and is passionate about providing comprehensive, compassionate, and individualized care. She takes a multidisciplinary approach, which includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness techniques. In 2023, she became certified in DBT. It is important to Emily to meet each individual where they are and to work together to develop a treatment plan that best serves them in reaching their goals. Emily is a patient, non-judgmental and open-minded therapist who prioritizes the needs of each individual.

Ayse Cici-Gokaltun, Ph.D.

Psychologist

Dr. Cici-Gokaltun joined Southampton Psychiatric Associates in 2021. Previously she has worked at WES Health System as a Post-Doctoral Fellow where she specialized in psychological assessment and evaluations of adults, adolescents, and children in outpatient community mental health settings. She holds a B.S. in Psychology from Istanbul University in Turkey where she has also worked as a Psychologist in Kindergartens and childcare centers for 5 years where she provided psychological consultation for children and their parents, organizing educational activities, and supervising preschool teachers. She is  certified in Small-Steps: Early Education and Family Guidance Program working with children with special needs. Dr. Cici-Gokaltun later attended Florida International University in Miami, FL where she obtained her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Developmental Psychology. She received pre-doctoral training at the National Institute of Mental Health funded clinical research program at the Child Anxiety and Phobia Program (CAPP) where she was primarily responsible for conducting diagnostic workups of the children and adolescents using the Anxiety Disorder Interview Schedule for Children. She also is certified by the Active Parenting Now Leader Training Program working with children, pre-adolescents, and their families. In addition, she is certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Recently, she completed training to become a certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist. Dr. Cici-Gokaltun has been teaching undergraduate psychology courses in Developmental Psychology at Florida International University and The College of New Jersey since 2010.

Adrienne Clark Lamb, M.D. 

Psychiatrist

Adrienne Clark, M.D. is a board-certified Child and Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist, who completed medical training at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, psychiatry residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She has experience treating mood disorders, anxiety disorders, Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder, and other diagnoses across the lifespan, with both medication management and psychotherapy. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.

Professional Counselor

Jessica joined Southampton Psychiatric Associates in 2021 after receiving her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Temple University, in Philadelphia, PA. Prior to earning her master’s degree, Jessica interned at Eastern University in the Cushing Center for Academic and Counseling services, in St. David’s, PA. She completed numerous hours of individual therapy in an outpatient setting with young adult clients prior to and during the pandemic. The new style and hybrid model of client treatment due to pandemic restrictions allowed Jessica to become trained in telehealth services and ethical considerations for treating clients online, which she has incorporated alongside her in-person training. Jessica also works for the Institute of Disabilities where she supports senior citizens and individuals with disabilities in receiving assistive technology. Previously, Jessica has been trained as a One-to-One Counseling Caregiver; a layperson counseling role for individuals in the community who may need emotional/mental health support outside of the regular counseling structure or may not have access to counseling services. Additionally, Jessica worked for seven years in the education field with at-risk youth as an instructor and mentor, in San Rafael, CA, Chester, PA, and Milwaukee WI. In completing her AmeriCorps experience in Milwaukee, she received the Idealistic Leader Award for her work. Most recently she worked as a college access coordinator at Carmen High School: Northwest in Milwaukee, WI, motivating and supporting high school seniors to earn 100% college acceptance. Jessica has a history of developing strong rapport and working alliances with a young and diverse clientele and has experience with a wide array of presenting concerns, including but not limited to, Anxiety Disorders, Mood Disorders, LGBTQIA+ concerns, perfectionism, spiritual concerns, adjustment disorders, ADHD, relational conflict, and emotion regulation. Jessica is an integrative counselor who employs the practices of trauma-informed care and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Relational Cultural Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy into her work with clients.

Jane Folk, M.S., L.P.C. 

Professional Counselor

Jane Folk, M.S., L.P.C. has 30 years of experience in providing clinical services. She holds a BA in Psychology from The College of New Jersey and a Master's from Hahnemann/Drexel University. She sees clients of all ages. Ms. Folk specializes in the area of depression, anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety, PTSD, panic, and OCD using cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and mindfulness models. She worked and trained with Dr. Edna Foa at University of Pennsylvania's Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety. She is a certified exposure therapist and trainer. She completed Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy intensive workshops at Omega Institute and completed a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Teaching course through Thomas Jefferson University Medical Hospital. Ms. Folk incorporates mindfulness with CBT in her practice.

Lyndsey Hansen, LCSW

Clinical Social Worker 

Lyndsey is a PA Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in the treatment of children and adolescents who have experienced a wide spectrum of concerns including trauma exposure, behavioral and emotional issues, grief, and other stressors that impact functioning at home and in school. She received her Masters from the Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research and has since worked clinically with children and adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Most recently Lyndsey has had the privilege of providing therapeutic support to children in the home, school, and community environments as a mobile therapist and behavioral specialist consultant. Lyndsey’s current practice seeks to provide a safe, nurturing space where clients can feel at ease being authentically themselves so that they may have an opportunity to make meaning of the past and move towards the future with a renewed sense of hope, confidence, and connection. She makes use of developmentally appropriate techniques such as play therapy, CBT, Trauma Focused-CBT, and/or DBT in addition to employing the invaluable collaboration of caregivers.

Daniel Kulper, Ph.D. 

Psychologist

Daniel Kulper, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist who received his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Temple University. Dr. Kulper helps individuals with a variety of mental health issues with specialties in anger/aggression, trauma, PTSD, sexual behavior problems, personality issues, and mood disorders. He also has a specialty in group psychotherapy and is the outgoing president of the Philadelphia Area Group Psychotherapy Society. Dr. Kulper has worked in a number of different settings including outpatient clinics, Veteran's hospitals, university clinics, and forensic settings. He currently works with adults and adolescents in individual therapy. While he has specific training in cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and client-centered approaches, Dr. Kulper typically tailors his treatment to the needs of his clients and draws from multiple modalities. He believes that most individuals come by their problems honestly and often need new perspectives and coping skills to help navigate the inevitable problems of life.

Paul Linder, Ph.D. 

Psychologist

Paul Linder, Ph.D. is a PA licensed psychologist and certified school counselor who has a doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from Temple University. During his pre-doctoral and post-doctoral training, Dr. Linder specialized in the treatment and assessment of children/adolescents and their family members. Throughout his 24 year professional career, Dr. Linder has provided counseling/therapy to children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of presenting issues. Dr. Linder joined the SPA practice in 2007. Prior to that time, he worked in a variety of settings, which included secondary schools, university counseling centers/clinics, residential treatment facilities, psychiatric hospitals, and community mental health centers. Since joining the SPA practice, he has worked full-time as a school counselor and privately as a consultant and clinician. 

Peter Thompson, Ed.D.

Professional Counselor

Peter Thompson, Ed.D., CMPC, LPC earned his doctorate in counseling and human development from the University of Rochester and his master’s degree in counseling and human relations from Villanova University. He has expertise in Cognitive-Behavioral, Solutions-Focused, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapies. Dr. Thompson is trained in clinical hypnosis (NBCCH) and earned his certification as a mental performance consultant through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) in 2020. He has served five colleges/universities as an adjunct instructor in both counselor education and exercise and sports science. Dr. Thompson is experienced at treating anxiety, panic, depression, grief, ADHD, men’s issues, school issues, and self-esteem development. He has a particular interest in working with adolescents, emergent adults, and anyone experiencing a life transition. He also offers support for athletes dealing with mental health struggles, performance anxiety, and the emotional impacts of injury.

Jennifer M. Walling, M.A., L.M.F.T

Marriage and Family Therapist

Jennifer M. Walling, M.A., L.M.F.T. is a licensed couples and family therapist who received a Master's in Family Therapy from Drexel University in 2010 and a Master's in Organizational Psychology with a specialization in conflict resolution from Columbia University in 2000. She is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and uses a systemic approach in her work with couples, families, and individuals. She specializes in treating clients and families who have experienced trauma, loss, or addiction to gambling or substances or are adjusting to life cycle changes including marriage, divorce, and launching children. Ms. Walling is also skilled in working with clients experiencing anxiety and mood disorders. She has a background in inpatient and outpatient settings and supervises students training to be family therapists.
